Pulse Yoga II Balance & Tone DVD Review and Giveaway
Yoga has always been one of my favorite forms of exercise. I don’t claim to be the expert in this
subject but I have enough experience (attended several yoga classes in the past and own several
yoga home DVDs) to know when a yoga exercise program is worthy or not, of your time and
money.
I recently received the Pulse Yoga II Balance & Tone
DVD for my review and what great timing! I am in full
force about keeping up with my daily workout routine
now that I’m getting married and want to look great in
my wedding dress. So the arrival of this DVD at my
front door was just perfect!
So after several workouts using the Pulse Yoga II
Balance & Tone DVD, here’s my take:
if you want to tone your upper body in a slow-paced
yoga mode using free weights, then this is one home
video exercise to check out. I love the idea of using
pulses while doing the yoga moves which are
incorporated throughout this 60-minute balance and
tone workout. The main fitness instructor Argie Tang is
very precise in her instructions so you feel like you’re
really learning from a real expert. Read about her bio
here, along with her assistant Prisca Boris. I love this
yoga workout DVD and I definitely recommend it to
anyone!

Here is a link to Martha’s yoga program. How nice that she dedicated time to showcase different styles of yoga and to bring awareness of the benefits of the practice. Check it out:

Take a look at our new fan page called “Pulse Yoga.”
This is a view of the sunrise from the house where some of us will be staying. Let me tell you of the walks on and around the beach we will be taking between Pulse Yoga and cooking sessions. We will use our free weights on the walks. Lately I have been experimenting with using free weights on my morning walks. I use 3 lb. weights and try to find movements that work with a brisk walk. I have come up with 8 different movements. One of them is like this: Bring your weights in front of your shoulders, upper arms close to torso. Reach straight up and hold the weights overhead for 10 steps while keeping shoulders down away from the ears. Slowly lower the arms to the sides for a count of 10 steps until they arms are at shoulder level. Hold for another 10 steps. Lower arms to sides and relax for 10 steps. Repeat. This builds your upper body strength while walking. It also increases your heart rate more so than if you are just walking. It allows you to burn more calories!
Here is the kitchen where we will be having our cooking classes. As you can see, it is open to the surrounding garden. Here is the menu for the first day:

This great joggling website offered a Pulse Yoga dvd giveaway. See below. I had no idea what joggling meant. It turns out that it is long distance running with juggling. I though doing yoga with micro movements and free weights was an unusual combination!! Anyway, just goes to show that hybrid systems are growing in exercise. People want to evolve the current exercise norms. Why not??

What is Pulse Yoga?
Here is a little summary that the marketing people over at Pulse Yoga put together. It explains a
bit more what it is.
Don’t have time to go to the gym? Has the same fitness routine left you in a rut? Pulse Yoga
offers you the intensity of Pilates, Weight Training, and Yoga combined in one structured class
that can be done at your own convenience!
Argie L. Tang, founder of the Pulse Yoga DVD, designed Pulse Yoga to build strength, stamina
and power, while improving balance and flexibility. According to Argie, it is possible to combine
completely different exercise philosophies to get the most out of your workout.
This workout has been proven to provide positive results in the form of decreased body weight,
hip/waist circumference, and cholesterol. Pulse Yoga has also been found to be as effective as
functional training when it comes to total body fat loss, and aerobic fitness levels.
Pulse Yoga would be happy to sponsor a reader giveaway of Pulse Yoga Basic DVD, a $14.99
value! This yoga routine introduces the Pulse concept of micro movements within a posture. Key
areas such as abdominal, lower back and gluteous muscles are targeted by the alternation of
right/left pulse movements with free weights define and sculpt the upper body.
(From the Pulse Yoga website): “In addition to the free weights, I added micro movements that primarily target areas such as thegluteus muscles, abdominals, upper arms and lower back. These micro movements within the yoga postures are highly effective with results that are noticeable immediately.”
